Our Story

Meet Jules!

After 14 years working as a paramedic on the Gold Coast Jules learned firsthand the importance of maintaining good health for longevity and wellness. With a background

in horticulture, permaculture and more recently soil biology, Jules developed a keen interest in growing food organically without the use of harmful chemical applications.

So, with the intention of growing nutritionally dense food, Jules became an urban farmer in May 2023 and started growing Microgreens.

Meet Tammie!

Fifteen years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter, I started considering what I was putting into my body. At first I was overwhelmed, but then I started changing one thing at a time. I didn’t realise that this would not only change how my daughter and I ate, but our whole way of living. It was a wholistic journey that started with the food we ate.

I have a passion for natural health and growing our own organic food. In 2018 I became an early childhood educator. A role that I loved!! From this experience I have realised that my purpose is to educate others. I want everyone to know about the benefits of eating nutritionally dense food. And so I bring my experience in sales, education, and my experience as a sole trader, being an artisan producer of organic kombucha, to this project.

Our Microgreenies Mission

Jules and Tammie having a passion for natural health and growing nutrient dense organic food, project Microgreenies was born.

Microgreenies are being grown and sold as a project of the Nature of Giving Foundation. Not only are Tammie and Jules passionate about growing and eating healthy nutritious food, but they also believe that everyone should have access to fresh and nutrient dense food. The Nature of Giving Foundation currently donates freshly harvested Microgreens to three different charities on the Gold Coast. getting fresh Greenies out to people who find themselves homeless, and the more vulnerable people in our community.

They have lots of other exciting goals, one of which is education. This will be starting very soon with classes showing women in a  Gold Coast refuge/sanctuary how to cook and prepare nutritious, wholesome meals without breaking the budget.

It is very important to Jules and Tammie that they grow and provide customers, and the disadvantaged people in our community, with the highest quality produce. In order to do this, they source the best seeds, make their own soil with quality organic compost and hand pick and harvest every Microgreen.

The Microgreens are then delivered to the stockists within hours of harvest to ensure they are as fresh as they can be when they hit the shelves.
